Obiettivi formativi
L'insegnamento è finalizzato a: i) analizzare il ruolo dei servizi ecosistemici forestali come beni economici e stimarne il valore; ii) acquisire conoscenze in merito agli obiettivi e agli strumenti di politica forestale; iii) individuare il ruolo dei sistemi di certificazione quali strumenti di regolazione del mercato.
This course aims to: i) analyse the role of unpriced forest ecosystem services as economic goods and to measure their value; ii) develop understanding of the policy instruments affecting the forest sector; iii) identify the role of the certification systems as market regulatory tools.

Lo studente/La studentessa al termine dell'insegnamemto dovrà essere in grado di comprendere la connessione fra la produzione dei servizi ecosistemici forestali e gli strumenti normativi, economici e di mercato che possono regolarla.
In particolare, alla fine dell'insegnamento lo/a studente saprà:

- descrivere i principali flussi di servizi ecosistemici derivanti dalle risorse forestali e comprendere i meccanismi economici che ne regolano la fornitura
- catalogare e illustrare gli strumenti di politica forestale
- illustrare le principali caratteristiche dei sistemi di certificazione nel settore forestaleConoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate
- impostare la raccolta delle informazioni necessarie per l'applicazione dei principali metodi di valutazione dei beni e servizi senza prezzo

- interpretare i risultati delle valutazioni economiche dei servizi ecosistemici forestali

Gli argomenti trattati rientrano nell'area di apprendimento in Prevenzione e mitigazione dei rischi naturali.
Il programma affronta le seguenti tematiche:
- principi di economia dell'ambiente applicati alle risorse e ai servizi ecosistemici forestali
- valutazione economica dei servizi ecosistemici forestali senza prezzo
- obiettivi e degli strumenti di politica forestale
- sistemi di certificazione nel settore forestale con riferimento alle competenze degli operatori, ai requisiti tecnici dei prodotti a base di legno, e agli aspetti di sostenibilitàThe course belongs to the Prevention and mitigation of natural risks learning area.

- principles of environmental economics applied to forest resources and ecosystem services
- measuring the economic value of unpriced forest ecosystem services
- policy instruments affecting the forest sector

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento consiste in 64 ore di lezione frontale e 16 ore dedicate a esercitazioni in aula e/o in campo.
Per le lezioni frontali saranno messe a disposizione di studentesse e studenti slide e presentazioni. Le esercitazioni riguardano l'applicazione dei metodi illustrati tramite utilizzo di fogli elettronici e la simulazione di attività di certificazione di prodotti a base di legno.
L'efficacia didattica sarà verificata mediante discussioni in aula senza valutazione.
La frequenza è facoltativa ma consigliata. La prova finale sarà uguale per gli studenti e le studentesse frequentanti e non frequentanti.The course consists of 64 hours of lectures and 16 hours devoted to practical classes and/or in field activities.
Lectures are delivered using Power Point presentations and will be made available to students on the web. In practical classes students will apply the main evaluation methods using spreadsheets and will simulate the certification of wood based products.
The teaching effectiveness is evaluated through discussions in class (not valid for the final evaluation).
The attendance at classes is optional but recommended. The final exam is the same for attending and non-attending students.- Oggetto:
Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Le modalità di svolgimento dell'esame sono le seguenti per ciascun modulo:
- una prova orale che verterà sul programma dell'insegnamento e sulle esercitazioni svolte
Il voto finale è costituito dalla media dei voti conseguiti in ciascun modulo, ponderata in base ai CFU di ciascun modulo.
For each module, the final exam will be as follows:
- an oral test focused on the course program and on the practical classes
The final mark will be the average of the marks obtained in each module, weighted based on the CFU of each module.
